Summer Programs for Grades K-12

All of our summer programs are to all students—both current Assets families and the public. With small-group instruction, hands-on activities, and a strengths-based approach rooted in our school’s philosophy, your student can discover firsthand the supportive experience that sets us apart.

Grades K-8 Academic Summer School

Academic Summer School is a half-day, morning program that provides an integrated curriculum and mirrors our school-year approach. Literacy instruction is focused on multi-sensory, structured language approaches. Theme-based lessons are integrated via hands-on activities and students daily enrichment classes to explore their interests and develop their strengths.

Program Dates: June 15 - July 16 (5 weeks)
Holidays Observed: Juneteenth (June 19), and Independence Day (July 3)
Daily Program: 7:40 a.m.-12:30 p.m.*
Tuition: $1,525
*Early morning care is available beginning at 6:30 a.m.
 Students will be matched with classrooms that are developmentally appropriate for their individual assessment.

Students attending the morning portion of the Academic Summer School are encouraged to sign up for the afternoon portion of Summer Camp (half day).

Grades K-8 Summer Camp

Summer Camp Ke Kula Pa'ani is available for full-day or half-day and immerses students in hands-on activities such as art, sports, science projects, and outings. Last summer, highlights of camp included knockerball, a field trip to the UH Mānoa Loʻi Patch, a field trip to the Fort Shafter Bowling Center, and a visit from a local agility dog group.

Program Dates: June 8 - July 24 (7 weeks)
Holidays Observed: Kamehameha Day (June 11), Juneteenth (June 19), and Independence Day (July 3)
Daily Program: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Morning Care: 7:30 a.m. - 9 a.m.
After Care: 4 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Cost: $450/week for full day program or $275/week for half day program

Students attending the morning portion of the Academic Summer School are encouraged to sign up for the afternoon portion of Summer Camp (half day). You may register your student for Summer Camp on a week-by-week basis.

Grades 9-12 Great Minds Academy

Assets High School's Great Minds Academy prepares future-ready learners through project-based study, workplace experiences, and practical skill-building such as resume development, interviewing, and professional communication.

At Great Minds Academy, students learn to...

Learning also extends far beyond campus. Last summer, Great Minds Academy students engaged with guest speakers from across our island community, including Watanabe Floral, First Hawaiian Bank, Oahu Veterinary Clinic, and more!

Program Dates: June 1 - June 26 (4 weeks)
Holidays Observed: Kamehameha Day (June 11) and Juneteenth (June 19)
Daily Program: 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Cost: $1,400

As a bonus for those who are current or incoming Assets High School students, participation in Great Minds Academy makes you eligible to bypass the Mentorship Launch Prep process and have an early start to your Mentorship experience next school year!

Grades 4-5 Slingerland® Literacy Program

Assets School is offering a summer structured literacy program for a small group of children in grades 4 and 5 who would benefit from additional support in reading, spelling, and writing. Each child will participate in daily small-group instruction using the Slingerland® Approach and individualized tutoring with teacher participants learning the approach. Over the course of the program, students receive approximately 42 hours of structured literacy instruction.

Program Dates: June 8 – July 10
Holidays Observed: June 11, June 19, and July 3
Daily Program: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (Includes a mid-morning snack/recess break)
