Students in one of our Middle School Humanities classes created their own children's book adaptations of the legendary tales of King Arthur and His Knights. The objective was to read their stories to our younger students from kindergarten to fourth grade. The learning took place during lunchtime.
For middle schoolers, it sparks their reading skills and comprehension abilities while fostering a sense of responsibility and leadership as they take on the role of storytellers. The younger students are exposed to literature in an exciting, interactive way to encourage their interest in reading. This collaborative opportunity shows how these interactions create a dynamic learning environment where students of all ages thrive and grow. This is one way we help our students embrace the love of reading.
