"The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood" was performed by 36 Assets School students, including some from the High School, on May 16 and 17 at the Paliku Theatre.
Families enjoyed seeing their children perform on stage. Some families attended both nights.
Robin Hood, the Sherwood Forest, Merry Men, the Sheriff of Nottingham, and a damsel-in-distress are part of "The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood."
This play was supposed to be done in 2020. Students were working on the play for a month. Then, the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the production of the play. The production restarted under the direction of Dramatic Arts Teacher Shannon Patalano. Students call her Ms. Shannon.
Ms. Shannon joined Assets School in 2015. She has participated in several Hawaii productions, including Honolulu Theatre for Youth. Her past Assets drama student acted with her in "The Dream of the Burning Boy" with The Actors Group earlier this year.
