In this season of giving, we are thankful for the generosity of our donors as they support our school financially and for the many in-kind donations we receive throughout the year. Assets School recently received two large educational contributions from a special community member, former Trustee Patrick Yamada, whose son Kirk graduated from Assets in 2005, donated electronic equipment to our High School Robotics Program and instruments for our music room. Mr. Yamada toured both campuses in October.
"The students at Assets School are lucky to have such nice musical instruments to play, said K-8 music teacher Dae Han. “Thank you, Mr. Yamada, for your generous donation!"
He donated model radio-controlled vehicles, radio transmitters, receivers, speed controllers, onboard video equipment, and more to our award-winning robotics team.
"We are very grateful for Mr. Yamada's electronic donation," said Director of Robotics Peter Han. "They will be extremely useful in our ongoing Makerspace expansion at the high school campus."
Mr. Yamada said he learned about the magnitude of the robotics program.
"I'm impressed," Mr. Yamada said. "You don't know the program's depth until you see what the students are doing. They are building the program by raising funds, programming, creating robots, competing, and networking with all the other schools. You're an incubator for other schools."
He was pleased to be back after many years. We are grateful for his contributions and can't wait to see how our robotics and music students thrive with his generosity.
