On Tuesday March 1, former NASA astronaut Capt. William Shepherd USN (Ret.) met virtually with two groups of Assets students as part of a space exploration class. In the morning, five students from our K-8 campus had the pleasure of interviewing Capt. Shepherd and learning about his time as an astronaut logging 159 days in space. Following the morning of discussion, Capt. Shepherd led a space exploration class to Assets High School STEM students. Capt. Shepherd is Assets virtual Illumination 2022 Gala keynote speaker. We will showcase some of the highlights in a special video at the Illumination Gala 2022 on April 9, at The Pacific Club. Purchase your Illumination tickets, and be one of the first to see this video at its release.
Thank you to Capt. Shepherd for meeting with our students and offering them the opportunity to learn more about space exploration and science. We also appreciate the students who participated in Tuesday’s activities.
