Trustees, parents, families, faculty (past and present), and staff of Assets School from kindergarten to 12th grade have collected canned goods and nonperishable food during November to support families in need.
On November 28, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, also known as National Giving Tuesday, Assets School donated 675 pounds of canned goods and $641 to Hawaii Foodbank President and CEO Amy Miller Marvin. Assets School’s donation will provide 1,940 meals to families facing hunger.
Assets offers an off-campus Mentorship Program on Wednesdays for students in grades 10th through 12th. The Hawaii Foodbank has long been a destination site for our students who enjoy learning about not-for-profit work and helping those in need. Assets High School student Luke '25 selected the Hawaii Foodbank this year. He often helps Community Engagement and Volunteer Coordinator Kimo Brown.
"We can’t do what we do without the contributions from Assets School," said Hawaii Foodbank president and CEO Amy Miller Marvin. "It means a lot to us. The steady donations over the last 25 years help us accomplish our goal of feeding Hawaii families in need.”
