Achieving Lift Off at the Rocketry Mentorship Program

     High School students in our Rocketry Mentorship Program learned recently about Robert H. Goddard, the pioneer whose vision and innovation ignited the journey to the stars! He launched the first rocket using liquid fuel in 1926. The NASA Goddard Space Flight Center is where the leading scientists and engineers in the nation work to build spacecraft.
     The rocketry mentorship, where our students learn about aerospace engineering and rocket science, is in its third year. This mentorship program equips our students with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fields and inspires them to dream big and reach for the stars.
     Mentorship is every Wednesday for our High School students. This year, there are more than 70 active off-campus mentorships, not including several High School students doing their mentorship at the K-8 campus. Assets School partners with 400 off-campus mentorship sites. Our on-campus mentorships at the High School are Robotics, Rocketry, Journalism, Blacksmithing, Makerspace, Visual Arts, East Asian Art and Craft, Photography, and Growing Green.
