Introducing STEM to grades K-8FIRST Lego League (FLL) focuses on discovering, explore, and challenge students who are interested in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). Through fun and hands-on experiences to spark innovation, creativity with LEGO technology. Students that participate in this league grow both hard skills (coding) and soft skills (critical thinking and problem solving). 

Program, design, and compete with robots

FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) is one of two programs available at our high school. This competition beings with a challenge teams must follow to build their robot. Students must create a game plan and work as team to get their robot ready to be able to challenge head-to-head with other Hawaii schools. at the state level, if the team wins awards, they move onto the championship and battle it out on a national level. Students that participate in this challenge learn hard skills (manufacturing and coding) and soft skills (problem solving and people skills)

A Smart-play Arena for the sport of Minds

FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is one of two programs available at our high school. This competition revolves around students self-design, build, and program industrial-size robots to compete in an action-packed game. Throughout the journey, students create a team identity, raise funds and work with coaches/mentors to get their robot ready to compete. 

The competition itself is built as a "Coopertition" where teams are created to form an alliance and work as one unit. Students who participate in this gains experience that helps develop, technical, teamwork collaboration, and an appreciation for STEM.
