CSS Profile-select schools
Some schools also require the CSS Profile (a fee-based College Board financial aid tool), which requires more detailed financial information.
Colleges that require the CSS Profile
Two main tests are used for college entrance; the SAT, and the ACT. Colleges will accept either test, there is not a preference for one versus the other, and many schools are now test optional. The test you choose may depend on the type of accommodations you can get approved as well, so contact your counselor for clarification.
- The ACT is a content-based test that aims to measure what students know and is based on high school curriculum as defined by the Common Core.
- The SAT is a reasoning test but also tests similar concepts.
