Position Title: Teacher for Gifted/2e Class

About the Position:
Assets is looking for a skilled individual to teach twice-exceptional students. Our ideal candidate has experience with creating thematic, integrated lessons that are hands-on and appropriately challenging for gifted and/or 2E learners. Applicants should possess positive and effective classroom management skills, the ability to work closely with colleagues, and above all, have a love for and understanding of students who may have complicated learning profiles.
Ratio is typically 1 teacher to 8 students. Most classes consist of a team teaching with a lead and second teacher. The position is either for a lead teacher or second teacher depending on experience and qualifications.

K-8 Music Teacher Assets School seeks a K-8 Music Teacher for the 2022-2023 School Year. Duties include teaching music and music-related subjects for grades K-8th and providing supervision during outdoor times as needed.
Essential Functions:
- Instructs students in subject matter utilizing various teaching methods such as demonstration and hands-on application
- Prepares teaching outline for course of study.
- Evaluates progress, records results, and issues.
- Maintains discipline in classroom
- Participates in faculty and professional meetings, music-related educational conferences and related teacher training workshops.
- Collaborate with teachers, including other resource teachers such as Performing Arts Teacher and Art Teacher to ensure quality of Resource Program.
- Develop music programs such as a Spring Music Program, Choir, etc.
- Incorporate music to school experiences such as school assembly, kupuna (grandparents) day and other traditional events.

Curriculum Coach
Position Title: Curriculum Coach
The Curriculum Coach is part of the Curriculum Department of Assets K-8 School program and is responsible for the educational and instructional leadership of the school. The Curriculum Coach ensures that the curriculum, practices and pedagogy are in accordance with the mission and vision of the school and the unique student-population it serves.
In addition to working directly with students, Curriculum Coach works in partnership with K-8 teachers and staff members, support staff, administration and families. As the needs of the school evolve, the expectation is that the Curriculum Coach will proactively and assertively provide the educational leadership necessary to meet the mission of the school. Applicants are requested to be committed to continue their learning about the profile of the students, including but not limited to 2e(twice exceptional) learners, gift and talented education and remediation practices. The expectation is that the Curriculum Coach will be a lifelong learner.

Reports to K-8 Principal
Duties/Responsibilities
- Actively assist and if applicable, actively coach and/or mentor staff members to ensure that practices such as multi-sensory learning, differentiated instruction and other hallmarks of the curriculum are occurring with integrity and as intended
- Oversee Parent Educational Workshops; Serve as liaison between parents, community members and others, to increase understanding of student profiles.
- Placement of teaching teams; student placement with respect to class assignments.
- Help support teachers with respect to expectations and responsibilities of their roles including new teacher orientation.
- Attend professional development, identify and create profession development and assist in helping to create the great sequence of professional development.
- Asses all parts of the K-8 Program, including but not limited to report cards, testing, family-communication, to ensure that such practices meet a high standard.
- As needed, explore and recommend way to alter or enhance all areas of curriculum, including to ensure a consistency of practices amongst classes.
- Be familiar with interpreting psychoeducational evaluations to facilitate individual student learning profiles and help to design and implement appropriate classroom and program level supports.

K-8 Administrative Assistant
Assets School is looking for a K-8 Administrative Assistant. This position is a 9-month contract with an additional 1-2 weeks prior to the start of the summer and fall program schedule. This individual will report to and support the K-8 Principal. The hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Essential Functions:
- Provides administrative support to the K-8 Principal and others as directed by the Principal.
- Manage daily attendance and announcement email to staff.
- Distribute daily mail.
- Copy and distribute a variety of communication materials, e.g., health notices, staff updates, school events.
- Receive calls and visitors to the school, answer questions and refer to appropriate staff.
- Provide support for special events such as Professional Development Days, 8th grade recognition ceremony, Kupuna/Grandparents Day.
- Purchase/order faculty lunches for professional development and/or conference days.
- Provide logistical support for school program such as creating testing labels, online registration for parent-teacher conferences, managing lists and schedules.
- Communicate with parents and staff regarding drop off/pick up, meeting requests, after school arrangements.
- Manage and maintain monthly catered lunch lists, database for K-8 program, school calendar, and other logistical needs for the K8 program.
- Manage requests for maintenance from faculty (update spreadsheet).
- Update K-8 Google Drive (lists, schedules, etc.).
- Coordinate Picture Day and Picture Retake Day; work with photographer on logistics.
- Coordinate Parent Conferences (set up conference sign-ups for parents via PTCFast, make follow-up calls, provide conference forms for teachers).
- Help revise, order and/or distribute a variety of marketing, communication and graphic design materials, e.g., banners, flyers, website.
- Help maintain cleanliness and organization of shared areas within the campus, e.g., teacher’s lounge.
- Create bulletin boards and other campus decorations.
Other Responsibilities:

Communications Manager and Parent Relations Liaison
Job Summary:
The Communications Manager has intimate knowledge of the school’s philosophy, goals, mission, curriculum, school development, campus build-out, and advantages of Assets School.
A key responsibility of the Manager will be to build from the communications/branding campaign for the school curriculum/pedagogy. The goal is to affirm our unique school identity within our internal community as well as to represent and communicate our mission-critical services and education services externally.
The Manager also serves as the Parent Relations Liaison by leading key projects to improve communications with our parent community, the faculty, as well as potential and incoming families. The Manager /Parent Relations Liaison will work to create an engaged parent community with Assets Parent Organization and the overall parent community. Additionally, the Manager takes ownership of communications with the media and works to promote our school leaders. This is an exempt position reporting to the Vice President of Institutional Advancement (VPIA).
Duties & Responsibilities:
- This is an in person position and will occasionally require work off hours and weekends due to being responsible for school communications including, but not limited to, COVID communications.
- Own the school’s communications calendar and creative style guide.
- Oversee the content and layout of the Assets School Website.
- Work closely with Faculty and Administrators to know what’s happening around the school and maintain a strategic presence for Assets School on all social media channels.
- Working with the Head of School and VPIA, manage all aspects (writing, editing, collection of content, production oversight) of the Assets School Annual Report, parent and constituent newsletter, and special publications for annual events.
- Partner with teachers on classroom/teacher communications to families.
- Working with other Administrators, conceive, write and produce marketing materials and manage all print, digital, broadcast, and external marketing.
- Working with the Head of School and VPIA, preparing content and presentation materials for parent meetings, town-hall meetings and external events.
- Oversee all media, publicity, and marketing efforts for the school with the support of the VPIA.
- Develop and maintain the school archive of news items and digital images for use online, in print, and on campus.
- In collaboration with the Head of School and VPIA, write, develop, update and maintain, plus implement as needed, procedures and protocols for communicating with Families during a crisis.
- Attend and staff key school functions, providing photography and writing and posting any news copy and social media coverage of the event with support of the VPIA.
- Collect and analyze data regarding marketing and track results to best pursue and concentrate appropriate efforts toward successful outcomes.
- Periodically prepare presentations and report efforts and progress to the Board of Trustees as needed.

Responsible for coordination and production of written materials associated with Accreditation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in communications, marketing, public relations, English, OR equivalent concentration or experience, will be considered.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in communications, marketing, and public relations. ∙Experience with Independent/Private Schools is a plus.
- Strong photography, design, writing and editing skills. Knowledge of specialty programs for design and video production a plus (photoshop, etc.).
- Strong team orientation and ability to work collaboratively with all members of the school community
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, public speaking and presentation skills, and interpersonal and interview skills.
- Strong technology skills for presentation and database use.
