Elementary Second Teacher, Gr. K-6 (2024-2025)
2024-2025 School Year
Position Title: Elementary School Second Teacher, Gr. K-6)
Department: Faculty; 9½ month position (August-May), Hours: 7:15am-3:15pm, M-F
Salary Range: $32,000-$42,000
About the Position: Assets School Elementary Program reflects grades Kindergarten-6th grade. Classes are multi-grade, typically ranging within 2-grade levels, e.g., 3rd/4th grades, 5th/6th grades, per class. This is a co-teaching position and includes supervisory duties.
Candidates must be passionate about learning and able to differentiate curriculum for the diverse learning needs of students who may be gifted and/or have learning differences.
The Second Teacher may co-teach, facilitate a small learning group, e.g., math, language arts, or help support the Lead Teacher within a class lesson. Teachers receive support within a school team of K8 Counselor, Curriculum Coach and/or Principal. Second Teachers are responsible for supervision, and relationship-building while bringing their own talents and passions to our school community. Ratio is typically 1 teacher to 8 students.
Experience with our student population is preferred, but an interest and high willingness to learn are also welcomed. The profiles of students at Assets School may represent those who are twice-exceptional (capable students who have learning differences) and may have one or more of the following: executive functioning challenges, ADHD, processing or working memory related issues.
About Assets School K-8 Program
All students receive weekly resource classes taught by specialist teachers: Art, Drama, Music, Physical Education, Technology.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides assistance, classroom management and student monitoring & support during whole group instruction.
- May facilitate small group instructions. May be requested to teach additional subject(s).
- Supervise students during times such as recess, lunch/snack, etc., as assigned.
- Support in homeroom class as needed, set-up systems, procedures and schedules.
- Assist in administering individual and group testing as needed.
- Helping to provide support as needed for special events, such as field trips and assemblies.
- Take notes and contribute when appropriate to parent conferences or other parent communications.
- Facilitate Enrichment Classes.
- Perform duties as assigned by lead teacher, curriculum coaches, and/or K8 Principal.
- Communicate regularly with the lead teacher about upcoming lesson plans.
- Participates in mandatory Assets training.

Elementary Lead Teacher, Gr. K-6 (2024-2025)

Position Title: Elementary Lead Teacher, Gr. K-6

Salary Range: $50,000-$70,000
About the Position
Assets School K-8 Program is looking for an experienced individual to teach a multi-age (typically two-grades within a class, e.g., 3rd/4th graders, 5th/6th graders) within the K-6 Program. There are approximately 16-students along with another teacher (Co/Second Teacher). Our ideal candidate has experience with creating thematic, integrated lessons that are hands-on and appropriately challenging for twice-exceptional learners. And, with students who may have executive functioning challenges, ADHD, processing or working memory related issues. Applicants should possess positive and effective classroom management skills, the ability to work closely with colleagues, and above all, have a love for and understanding of “bright and quirky” students.
The Lead Teacher works closely and provides instructional support to the collaboration of the Second-Teacher who supports the class and Lead-Teacher. Teachers receive support within a school team of K8 Counselor, Curriculum Coach and/or Principal. Lead Teachers are responsible for creating lesson plans, supervision, and relationship-building while bringing their own talents and passions to our school community. - Provides lessons, classroom management and student monitoring & can facilitate instructions to whole groups (typically 14-16 students with 2 teachers or 8-10 students with 1 teacher).
- Supervise students during times such as recess, lunch/snack, etc., as assigned
- Responsible for developing and implementing instruction for math (smaller group of 6-8 students) and social studies.
- Ideally, a candidate is able to teach multi-sensory language arts, e.g.,Slingerland, Orton-Gillingham.
- Responsible for homeroom class–set-up systems, procedures and schedules. Classroom Management.
- Administering individual and group testing assessments as needed.
- Vital role in special events, such as field trips, back-to-school nights, spring art show and other school related events.
- Facilitates parent conferences or other parent communications, including class app and/or weekly class newsletter.
- Perform duties as assigned by curriculum coach, and/or K8 Principal
- Participates in mandatory Assets training
- Communicates regularly with the second teacher about upcoming lesson plans. Capable of creating and facilitating lessons.

About the Position

Our ideal candidate has experience with creating thematic, integrated lessons that are hands-on and appropriately challenging for gifted, remedial and/or twice-exceptional learners. Applicants should possess positive and effective classroom management skills, the ability to work closely with colleagues, and above all, have a love for and understanding of adolescents.
The Middle School second teacher plays a crucial role in co-facilitating alongside the Lead Teacher. They provide support by assisting with lesson plans, supervision, and relationship-building while bringing their own talents and passions to our school community. Second teachers conduct their own math classes that range in content, and may be required to facilitate small group lessons in their particular subject.
Ratio is typically 1 teacher to 8 students.

Advancement Coordinator
Department: Advancement
Hours: Part-time 15 to 20 hours per week, established by the Advancement Coordinator and
Vice President of Institutional Advancement. The hours could change weekly due to the
demands of the department.
Salary Range: $20.00 per hour
About the Position: Advancement Coordinator
Objective: The Assets School Advancement Coordinator position is to support the school’s Vice
President of Institutional Advancement primarily. Additionally, the Advancement Coordinator
position will periodically support the office's overall functions, particularly the Receptionist and
the Office Manager.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintaining the Advancement database
- Support for all school fundraisers
- Organize auction procurement efforts/engage parents, working closely with the team, and prepare auction materials
- Help with coordination of other special events such as donor, volunteer, and faculty appreciation/cultivation events
- Assist with program event logistics as requested, including activities such as photography, volunteer management, or communication activities
- Event planning
- Help ensure the smooth operation of the office and other duties as assigned

Robotics Coach
Position Title: Robotics Coach for Assets School’s K8 Program (Grades 6-8)
Salary: $25/hour
Dates: August 19, 2024- May 20, 2025
Hours: 1:30-2:45 PM Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
· Competition Date #1: November 11, 2024
· Competition Date #2 (tentative); TBD December 2024
About the Position
The Robotics Coach is tasked with executing all aspects of the robotics program including robotics competition. Typically there are 10-students within the Robotics Team.

About the Position
The Robotics Coach is tasked with executing all aspects of the grades 6th-8th robotics program including their participation in the FIRST LEGO League Competitions which include but are not limited to managing and coaching the Assets K8 Programs Robotics Team. At this time, the robotics competition/robotics team is available to grades 6th-8th and robotics classes are available to grades 5-8th grades.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Help the team set realistic goals.

Facilitates meetings and helps the team orchestrate work, tasks and manage all aspects of the robotics program.

Assists the team in following challenge instructions and guidelines.

Administrative responsibilities such as tournament registration and communication.

Relay all aspects of the FIRST LEGO League guidelines and rules to the team, other Coaches, Volunteers and parents.

Desire to work with children approximately 9-13 years (Grades 6-8) of age.

Facilitate a robotics class within the Enrichment Class.

Plant Maintenance
Position Title: Plant Maintenance
Reports To: Facilities Manager
Salary Range: $18-$25/hour
Position Summary:
Ensures that the physical plant is well maintained.
Essential Functions:
- Rake fallen leaves, pick up litter, sweep and hose down/power wash walkways. Clean out floor mats.
- Vacuum, sweep, mop and wipe down classrooms and offices. Empty all trash bins.
- Clean and mop restroom. Restock paper products/soap in restrooms, kitchen, classrooms and storage closets.
- Remove all tree droppings on tarps, replace worn and missing bungies as needed.
- Weed whack as needed after school instructional hours.
- Perform semi-annual deep cleaning during the summer and winter school breaks; strip and wash tile floors, scrub hallways/decks, shampoo carpets.
Other Responsibilities:
- Performs other work-related duties, as assigned by the Facilities Manager.
Helpful Qualities, Skills, Education and Experience:
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Experience with custodial duties and lawn maintenance.
- Ability to understand and follow directions as given.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in an organized and dependable manner and to work with other maintenance workers.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (supplies, trash).
- Minor carpentry, plumbing and painting skills a plus.
- Sensitivity to children and an understanding of appropriate behavior and deportment around school-aged children.
